Case Study
You have beenassigned a new client, Bill (62 years old), by your health club manager. Billwould like to begin a guided exercise program focused on his goals of weightloss and becoming more active. During your initial appointment with Bill, youperform routine health assessment revealing the following information:

Lipitor: a statin drug used to treat high  cholesterol
  
Zestril: an  angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitor used to treat high BP and heart  failure
  
Prilosec: an  antacid drug used to treat heartburn, stomach ulcers, and gastroesophageal  reflux disease
  
Advil, a  nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug used to treat back and joint pain

injury 5 yr ago; played baseball and football in  high school
Surgeries
Gallbladder removed 2 yr ago. Endoscopic  outpatient procedure to treat stomach ulcer 1 yr ago. Reports no orthopedic  surgeries or active injuries other than occasional low back pain following
  
activities like  yard work.
Bill isinterested in lower intensity exercise due to his concerns regarding joint painin his lower back and extremities. His stated goal is to lose a minimum of 30lb. At the conclusion of the initial appointment, you decide a combination ofresistance training using machines and body weight exercises and aerobicexercise on the treadmill and recumbent bicycle. He will also begin astretching program with a focus on the lower back and extremities.
